Jim Hurson joined Palladium Pictures in 2023 as a researcher. He previously worked in real estate development, before leaving that industry to pursue an independent documentary film project in southwest West Virginia. Jim’s interest in documentary film began in high school when he first encountered Penelope Spheeris’ work on alternative music scenes in Los Angeles. He was exposed to documentary film more formally during his time in college, becoming familiar with the works of Wim Wenders, Werner Herzog, and Rainer Werner Fassbinder. Jim is a 2019 graduate of Davidson College, where he double majored in economics and German Studies, and earned the Bremer German Language Award. His favorite film is Paris, Texas.
