The Trump Arch
At the gateway to the capitol of one of the world’s superpowers, a monumental new structure is proposed for America’s 250th anniversary: The Trump Arch—a classical triumphal arch designed by architect Nicolas Leo Charbonneau of Harrison Design, intended to stand as a permanent symbol of American continuity and power.
This documentary goes behind the public renderings and political reactions to tell the human story of how national monuments are born. Through exclusive access to Charbonneau, filmmaker George Goss captures a rare, intimate look at the creative, philosophical, and logistical process of designing a structure meant to embody a nation at a historic crossroads. As debates over history, legacy, and civic identity intensify, The Trump Arch asks: Who gets to define American symbolism—and how does architecture shape national memory?
