We are seeking an experienced and talented Editor to join our team for an exciting new documentary project. This position offers an incredible opportunity for skilled editors with significant experience, including work on feature-length films. As an Editor at Palladium Pictures, you will be hired on a per project basis, collaborating with our team of passionate professionals to bring captivating stories to life. This is a high level job that requires significant editing skill and experience on broadcast quality feature-length documentary film. 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Editing Expertise: Demonstrate exceptional proficiency in video editing, with a keen eye for storytelling, pacing, and narrative structure. You will be responsible for crafting compelling and emotionally impactful documentaries that resonate with audiences.
  • Project Management: Take ownership of the editing process, managing the post-production workflow efficiently, and meeting project deadlines. Coordinate with the production team and directors to understand the creative vision and objectives of the documentary.
  • Experience in Documentary Filmmaking: Possess a strong background in documentary filmmaking and be well-versed in the unique challenges and opportunities it presents. Familiarity with various documentary styles and genres is essential.
  • Technical Proficiency: Utilize advanced editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and other relevant tools to edit footage, incorporate visual elements, and optimize the overall quality of the documentary.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with directors, producers, and other team members to ensure a seamless and unified approach to storytelling. Take feedback constructively and contribute creative ideas to enhance the final product.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain a high standard of quality in editing, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to the documentary’s intended message and tone.
  • Story Development: Participate in story development discussions and provide valuable insights during the editing process to create a powerful and cohesive narrative.
  • Sound Design: Collaborate with sound designers and audio engineers to enhance the auditory experience, ensuring that the sound complements the visual storytelling.
  • Previous Experience: A proven track record of working on feature-length documentary films is required. Please provide a portfolio showcasing your previous work in documentary editing.
